NASHVILLE, TN – May 1, 2008 – The Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) is honored seven individuals from across the country for their leadership and contributions to home healthcare at the Annual Awards Ceremony, 7:30-10:30 p.m. May 1, held in conjunction with the 26th Annual Conference at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Awards and Awardees include:
Legislator of the Year—Senator Robert P. Casey, Jr. (D-PA) Senator Casey is lead cosponsor of the Home Health Care Access Protection Act of 2007 (S. 2181) and is honored for his leadership in advancing the mission of home healthcare in Congress.
Dick Anderton Mentor of the Year—Carol Snow, RN, MSN (this award is the highest honor that VNAA can bestow on a VNA leader) Carol Snow is the President and CEO, Central Coast Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice located in Monterey, California
Clinician of the Year—John McCarthy, Certified Home Health Aide Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, Redbank, New Jersey
Program Manager of the Year—Sally Moennich, RN, BSN, MBA Executive Director, VNA CarePlus, The Visiting Nurse Association Healthcare, Partners of Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio
Administrative Manager of the Year—Beth Dimitruk, BA, MA Home Health Visiting Nurse Association, Lawrence, Massachusetts
Volunteer of the Year—Agency Board Member Margaret McGillivray, RN, MS, MPH, CNAA Board Chair, VNA of Care New England, Warwick, Rhode Island
Volunteer of the Year—Individual Care Provider Idelle Hirsch, Hospice Volunteer Visiting Nurse Association, St. Louis, Missouri
